Through PBL units, students are immersed in authentic learning experiences. Teachers can create opportunities for student voice and choice to enhance classroom culture with a sense of student ownership of learning. Extending impact beyond the classroom walls, PBL culminates in a public product that engages the community and drives purpose . Through this workshop, participants will learn the basics of project based learning, receive hands-on guided practice, and leave with all the resources needed to support every step of the PBL process. The PBL Workshop was created to allow educators of ALL content areas and grade levels to participate. Attendees do not need to have prior PBL experience. However, in order to maximize impact at the in-person event, participants should complete the pre-work mini lessons to build a foundational understanding of key PBL elements as well as begin to brainstorm a PBL topic.
Megan Reynolds, Technology Integration Specialist Meganís previous experience in a 1:1 public school classroom provides a valuable foundation of practical ideas and implementation strategies for effective instruction. Passionate about the role technology plays in PBL, she motivates educators to move beyond their current digital literacy levels in order to help students and teachers develop valuable 21st century skills paired with authentic learning experiences. As a Level 1 and Level 2 Google Certified Educator, Megan enjoys delivering relevant and impactful workshops to help educators embrace innovative instructional practices! Cheyenne Mills, Support Specialist Cheyenne is an elementary educator and EdTech enthusiast, having championed PBL with her fourth grade math and science students. She believes in learning by doing and fostering real-world connections in her classroom. Her current role as Support Specialist with Edvergent Learning fuels her passion for discovering the best ways to support teachers in their digital learning journey. As a Level 1 Google Certified Educator, she is a frequent webinar presenter and trainer and enjoys giving teachers the tools to foster learning without limits.
